The 3 best places to climb in Italy by the sea

If you love climbing and also to travel or discover beautiful places, we share these 3 ideal places to combine climbing and a paradisiacal landscape:

sardinia

1. Where to climb in Sardinia: Cala Gonone and Cala Goloritzé

Sardinia offers the possibility of living vertical adventures among the aromas of the Mediterranean Sea. The best locations are Cala Gonone and Cala Goloritzé in the southern part of the Gulf of Orosei. Cala Gonone has equipped cliffs for all levels of difficulty, such as the "Fuili" and "Biddiriscottai" routes near the sea, while "Poltrona" and "Budinetto" rise on the outskirts of the village of Cala Gonone (towards Dorgali). Near the coast are also the walls of Mount Oddeu, which are challenged in spring and autumn due to ideal temperatures for climbing. If you like technical climbing, try the limestone walls of Aguglia di Goloritzé.

2. Where to climb in Apulia: Ciolo

In Salento, in the Ciolo area, the most popular rock is the Paretone with large grab slabs for 21 routes (difficulty level from 5a + to 7b). Ideal for lovers of climbing near the sea is the Guardiola di Corsano, about forty meters high, which rises on a small fjord.

3. Where to climb in Liguria: Finale Ligure and Porto Venere

Less than half an hour from Savona and in just 10 square kilometers there are 150 walls to climb. Climbing is made more pleasant by the temperate climate, given the geographical position of these cliffs and their structure formed by limestones rich in holes, cracks and vertical reeds, due to erosion by the sea. Near Finale Ligure are the cliffs of Capo Noli, overlooking the sea or the Bric Pianarella, the highest in the area. For lengths of 150 meters are the "Fivy" and "The unequal struggle of the Count of Montesordo and the bloody dragon." You will also find the "Friendship" and the "Temple of Psychic Youth" routes. Above the city of Porto Venere (SP) you can climb the cliffs of Muzzerone, pillars of white limestone directly above the sea, full of Mediterranean vegetation.

So, what are you waiting for? Do you already know these spectacular places?
